DAZN is on a mission to revolutionize sports engagement online, and we're thrilled to be part of this journey. Tasked with crafting a vision for the future, our goal was to expand the possibilities of their streaming platform.
DAZN, the world's leading sports streaming service, is accessible in 200+ countries, boasting over 20 million premium subscribers and 130 million connected devices.
Challenge
The challenge was to dive deep into what makes sports fandom tick—community and real-time interaction—and conceptualize how these elements could be integrated into DAZN's platform. Additionally, DAZN aimed to explore the potential of personalized content and in-app betting to further enrich the user experience.
Solution
To address these challenges, we focused on creating a set of visionary concept designs aimed at enhancing user engagement and interaction. We developed features that would allow fans to follow their favorite stars, teams, and sports, receiving daily personalized updates and videos. This customization would ensure a more relevant and engaging sports viewing experience.
Understanding the importance of community in sports fandom, we conceptualized the 'watch parties' feature. This would allow users to watch live games with friends online, simulating the experience of being together in a virtual living room where fans could cheer, celebrate, or console each other in real-time.
To add an extra layer of excitement, we proposed integrating betting directly into the DAZN app. This feature would cater to both casual predictions and actual betting, enriching the sports viewing experience by allowing fans to test their instincts and engage more deeply with live sports.
Results
These innovative concept designs provided DAZN with a visionary roadmap for the future of their platform. While not all features have been built and implemented, the sketches offer a variety of options for DAZN to cherry-pick and integrate over time. The concepts for personalized content and watch parties showed significant potential to increase user engagement and satisfaction. The in-app betting feature presented an exciting opportunity to further enhance interactivity and user involvement.
Thanks to these forward-thinking designs, DAZN is well-positioned to solidify its status as the ultimate destination for sports enthusiasts. The platform now has a clear vision for offering an endless stream of action and deeper connections to the sports world, pushing the envelope of what a sports streaming service can be.
